  • Can be frozen and reheated without losing texture

  • Simple ingredients you already got in your kitchen

  • Perfect for sweet OR savory – serve with syrup, fruit, or fried chicken

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 4 tbsp sugar

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 2 tbsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 3 ½ cups buttermilk (or 3 ½ cups milk + 2 tbsp vinegar)

  • 1 cup melted butter (or oil)

  • 4 eggs

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch (adds crunch)

  • 2 tbsp dry malted milk powder (for that classic diner flavor)

Optional (but don’t skip if you want that wow):

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your waffle iron.

  2. In a big bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, malted milk powder, cornstarch, and baking soda.

  4. Mix wet and dry ingredients until just combined – don’t overmix.

  5. Let the batter rest for 5–10 minutes (this makes it even fluffier).

  6. Grease your waffle iron and pour in ½ to ¾ cup of batter per waffle.

  7. Cook until golden brown and crisp, about 4–6 minutes.

  8. Serve with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

🧊 Can I Freeze These Waffles?

Absolutely! After they cool, stack ‘em with parchment paper in between, pop ‘em in a freezer bag, and reheat in the oven, toaster or air fryer. Breakfast on deck anytime.

🔥 How to Reheat Waffles Like a Pro:

  • Toaster: Perfect crisp.

  • Air Fryer: 350°F for 3–5 mins.

  • Oven: 350°F for 7–9 mins.

  • Microwave: Only if desperate. 😅

🥄 Sheri’s Tips:

  • Wanna go sweet? Add chocolate chips or blueberries.

  • More of a savory vibe? Top it with fried chicken, bacon, or hot honey.

  • Add cinnamon and a lil nutmeg if you want them cozy fall flavors.
